Juan Aguilar Jiménez

Juan Aguilar Jiménez (1968)
PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Málaga.

Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga. Promoter of the academic project Creativelab and Director of the IKEA Training Chair. Editor-in-chief of I+Diseño (International Journal of Research, Innovation and Development in Design) published by UMA. Exhibition curator and consultant in creative strategies and design methodologies. Co-director of El Intercambiador Express, an educational project and design culture magazine developed in collaboration with professionals, educators, institutions, and students. The project has received national and international awards in both student and professional categories.

Former president of AAD (Andalusian Association of Designers) and READ (Spanish Network of Design Associations), where he led initiatives such as the creation of the Andalusia Design Awards and the organization of the 3rd and 4th ENAD (National Design Associations Meetings).

Founder and director of Estación Diseño (School of Design) from 2011 to 2020, and mentor in the adoption of design thinking methodologies within Andalucía Emprende (Andalusian Public Foundation).

Member of the Board of Trustees of the Manolo Prieto Foundation and author of Lo que cuenta Novelas y Cuentos (published by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the Manolo Prieto Foundation and Experimenta Editorial) and Más que un toro. Manolo Prieto, 20th Century Designer (published by Experimenta Editorial and the Manolo Prieto Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Culture).


Salvador Haro González

Salvador Haro González

Affiliation: Full Professor of Painting, University of Málaga

Dílar, Granada, 1968. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada (2003). He has served as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Málaga. Recipient of the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Research Award, Picasso’s Birthplace Museum in Málaga (2005). Author of numerous articles and monographs, including Painting and Creation in Pablo Picasso’s Ceramics (2007).

He has curated exhibitions in national and international museums on Picasso, artists’ books, and printmaking. He has contributed texts to exhibition catalogues for institutions such as the Louvre Museum, the Picasso Museums of Málaga, Barcelona, and Paris, the Cyprus Museum, Réunion des Musées Nationaux of France, Louisiana Museum (Denmark), Cercle Cité (Luxembourg), Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche Faenza, MuCEM Marseille, MGEC Marbella, Kennedy Center Washington, Sèvres – Cité de la Céramique, Fundación Picasso Málaga, and the Círculo de Bellas Artes Madrid, among others.

Since 1989, he has held around fifteen solo exhibitions and participated in over one hundred group exhibitions in Spain and abroad. His works are part of various public and private collections.


Eugenio Rivas Herencia

Eugenio Rivas Herencia

Córdoba, 1982. PhD from the University of Granada (2012). Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Architecture at the University of Málaga since 2016. He has participated in numerous lectures on contemporary art and has published significant contributions in academic journals, exhibition catalogues, and conference proceedings. He has curated exhibitions and conducted workshops for various museums and cultural institutions.

He is a member of the research group HUM 246 Culture of Diversity and School, as well as several academic journals and various Institutes of Art and Education. He was part of the research team for the project P20_00306 Pyrrhonian-Empirical Skepticism and Academic Skepticism in Their Historical Development (EPADMECO), led by Ramón Román (PI), within the HUM-367 group at the University of Córdoba, under the Andalusian Research Plan 2020–2022.

Among his contributions is an extensive artistic production, with over one hundred solo and group exhibitions with national and international impact. He has received important awards and grants for creative and research projects. His work is part of numerous private and institutional collections. He directed Artefacto Social, a collective creation project for social transformation. He currently coordinates Disrupting the Order: Art, Education and Sociocultural Action Days and the Sociocultural Action Platform Surtopías (www.surtopías.org).


Inocente Soto Calzado

Inocente Soto Calzado

Affiliation: Permanent Lecturer, University of Málaga

Málaga, 1967. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada. Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Málaga, in the Painting Area, teaching subjects related to painting and printmaking. Lecturer and coordinator of courses such as Genius and Matter: Picasso’s Linocuts in Practice, 1st Specialization Course in Contemporary Sustainable Printmaking on Copper and Zinc, and Research in Art: Writing and Publishing.

His research work in the field of Art has focused, since his doctoral thesis, on the figure of Pablo Picasso, the subject of scientific and outreach articles as well as exhibitions (Cartoons at the Front, Illustrators with Paris in the Background. Picasso and the Illustrated Magazines, Picasso, Painter of Prints. The Aquatint).

In the field of printmaking, alongside his artistic activity, he has produced publications and delivered lectures on the history, theory, and pedagogy of Higher Education, while participating in Teaching Innovation Projects from 2013 to the present.


Áurea Muñoz del Amo

Áurea Muñoz del Amo

Affiliation: Associate Professor, University of Seville

Badajoz, 1980. Holds a BA and PhD in Fine Arts. Associate Professor in the Department of Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Seville.

Her teaching, artistic, and research work is closely linked to contemporary printmaking and the development of creative discourse through drawing, printmaking processes, and new imaging technologies. She leads the research group “Graphics and Digital Creation” (HUM822) and has served as co-PI of the R&D+i project ASTER: Promoting Art–Science–Technology-Engineering Research By Using Collaborative Methodologies And Tools.

She has carried out research stays in several European countries (UK, Italy, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium), and participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions and artistic projects. Among other honors, she has received the “Fundación Pilar Banús” Prize at the XV National Printmaking Awards organized by the Spanish Contemporary Printmaking Museum Foundation in Marbella.


Jorge Montalbán Blanco

Jorge Montalbán Blanco

Affiliation: PhD Candidate, University of Málaga

Málaga, 1994. PhD candidate in the Doctoral Program in Fine Arts and Design at the University of Málaga. Graduated in Fine Arts from the same university (2017), he completed a Master’s in Art Direction for Film, Television, and New Media at TAI University School of Arts (Madrid, 2019) and a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga (2024).

His career spans artistic practice, audiovisual art direction, and jewelry design. He has led the art department in numerous short films, feature films, music videos, and advertising campaigns, collaborating with brands such as Sony Music Spain, Universal Music Spain, Nike, and Adidas. As an artist, he has participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions and has also curated exhibition projects. His work focuses on the relationships between memory, territory, and language, primarily using media such as sculpture, installation, and video art. His pieces are included in both public and private collections.

Since 2024, he has been part of the creative team of the jewelry brand Kuurth as a designer. His current research focuses on the links between art, territory, memory, and the jewelry object.


Miguel Alcaide Bautista

Miguel Alcaide Bautista

Affiliation: Technology Support Technician for Teaching Centers, University of Málaga

Multidisciplinary artist with technical training in image, sound, and computer systems. Has worked in the audiovisual field as a lighting technician for short films and music videos. Since 2022, he has been professionally collaborating at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Málaga, participating in the creative and technical environment of academic and artistic projects.
